National News: Amid the ongoing tensions over the 'I Love Muhammad' poster controversy, internet services have been suspended in the Bareilly division of Uttar Pradesh for 48 hours (till Saturday afternoon, 3 PM). Along with this, security arrangements have been tightened. To maintain law and order, deployment has been made not only of police and the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel of the state, but also of Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel.

Reason Behind the Internet Suspension

Issuing the order, Home Secretary Gaurav Dayal said that there is a possibility of misuse of social media platforms and messaging services like Facebook, YouTube, and WhatsApp for spreading rumors and inciting communal tension. He stated that this step has been taken to maintain peace and public order.
